Purpose & Beliefs

The purpose of WordTruth is to bring glory to God by presenting biblical truth that is applicable and meaningful for daily life.

The beliefs expressed through WordTruth are those that are typically proclaimed by followers of God who recognize the authority and sufficiency of the Bible for all aspects of life and who know that salvation and eternal life are provided only through Jesus Christ.

Belief Overview

Those serving on the WordTruth team believe in the triune God of the Bible. We believe that God created the universe and that He created mankind (male and female) in His own image. Because of every person’s disobedience to God (sin), we all need salvation and help from God (redemption). Jesus, the God/man, lived on earth and died on a cross in Jerusalem, willingly giving His life so that people might know and have fellowship with God. Jesus rose from the grave, was seen by hundreds of His followers, and then ascended to God the Father. We believe Jesus is coming again to judge the earth and establish His kingdom.

Belief Highlights

We believe . . .

That the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired Word of God, the supreme and final authority in faith and life, completely without error in the original manuscripts, and totally sufficient to deal with every aspect of life and relationships.

That there is but one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

That Jesus of Nazareth was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is fully God and fully man.

That male and female were created in the image of God, yet subsequently sinned, thereby incurring not only physical death but also spiritual death . . . as a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and sin in thought, word and deed.

That Jesus is the Christ (Messiah); that His death provided atonement for mankind’s sin and that all who place their faith in Him are justified before God, are regenerated spiritually by the Holy Spirit and, thus, become children of God.

That Jesus rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is coming again to reign on earth.

That all who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body, the Church; that the establishment and continuity of local churches is clearly taught in the New Testament; that the members of this one spiritual community are directed to associate themselves together in local fellowships; that believers (still prone to sin) can, by relying on God’s grace and His divine resources, live in a manner that brings glory to God, honors Christ, and is in accordance with biblical love in all relationships.

That all who place their faith in Jesus Christ are to demonstrate their love to Him by obedience to Scripture, which includes participation in water baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

That all who have lived will face the righteous judgment of God – those who have placed their faith in Christ will receive their reward and enjoy fellowship with God forever; those who have rejected Christ will receive punishment and never enjoy the love and presence of God after this life.
